Yes you read that right. For the past 3 years I have cooked our Thanksgiving turkey breast side down in broth. I must warn you, this is not the way to cook it if you want the picture perfect turkey.
It has become a tradition to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my parents at their 2nd home in Michigan and my mom has put me in charge of cooking. I’m not a cooking pro by any means however, I knew it wasn’t something I couldn’t handle.
As it turned out, my first turkey I made was amazing. However, something looked a bit odd about it…come to find out I had placed the turkey upside down in the broth on accident! Best accident ever…..the taste was good and the meat was so moist!
This will mark year 4 that I have been using the upside down trick and I’m proud of it.
